Topper’s Talk: Mylavarapu Krishna Teja, 66th Ranker

KRISHNATEJA
My Background…I did my schooling in Chilakaluripeta and Intermediate from Guntur. My father, Mr. Sivananda Varma is a business man and my mother Smt. Bhuvaneswari is a housewife. I pursued Computer science engineering from Narasarao Peta College of Engineering in the year 2009. From the past three years I am working as an instructor in RC Reddy IAS coaching center. As Civils is toughest exam to crack, you need a strong guidance and motivation from a right source; I got these in the form of Mr. Narendra Nath, IFS.

Thus cleared Prelims and Mains…I started civils preparation from the year 2010. Having been worked as a lecturer in RC Reddy coaching center, I got a golden opportunity to lecture and prepare for civils subjects. My favorite subject is Geography, so I picked it as optional. After realizing the mistakes made in the past three attempts, I worked on them very strongly and strategically resulting in clearing civils in fourth attempt. Especially I worked on quality of writing, which I think played a crucial role in clearing mains apart from the subject knowledge.

Stressful, but successful interview…Interview round has been very stressful, but being a lecturer helping many students in overcoming stress, came very handy for me too because of which I was able to overcome the stress and answer very confidently and precisely. Questions were asked more on GST and Make In India topics.

Advice to the aspirantsThough one can crack civils by self preparation, coaching would be very essential for you to get relived from stress and get clarity on syllabus.
